So while we are on the topic of inspiration I thought I'd post a few pictures of things that have been inspiration to me this week. Enjoy!

This one was done by my talented friend Tricia Davidge. She is an amazing photographer, and she did this super fun and funky makeup as well! I saw it and had to share! If you want your picture taken, and have a flare for fun and all things dramatic, check her out!

Okay, this photo needs no introduction... It's Chanel. It's Nude. It's Chanel... haha. Come'on.
This one really inspired me. I did a photoshoot a few weeks back with an amazing photographer (Deven Carter) and he captured this beautiful photo of a great friend and gorgeous woman, Kimberly Riffel. I really enjoy this one because she has such a fun edgy style, but its also very feminine. This photo captured the essence of her as a person, and best of all he got a great shot of the makeup I did ;)

This one really inspired me. After checking out the shots that Deven took I saw this photo and got extremely excited. It made me feel very proud, and truly grateful. I am blessed to be able to do something this awesome, and I am blessed to have someone amazing in my life who helps me reach the goals I set for myself. To end this one, here is something I found to be extraordinary, and delightful for print work.

WOW WOW WOW. Amazing right? Origami Eyelashes... yes please. Thank you Paperself.com  :)

whoops

How could I have forgot to show you all my ridiculous Halloween outfit??

Nicki Minaj.. you are welcome for doing you justice. ;)

Sugarpill Cosmetics

Okay, so this eyeshadow palette says enough right? RIGHT!

I came across this cosmetics brand a few months back when searching for potent, high quality eyeshadow colors to utilize for my more avant guarde makeup applications.

Between Sugarpills eyeshadow colors and Sigmas brush line... well I hate to say it but M.A.C better watch out : /

The price point on these palletes is actually pretty similar, however the single eyshadows are priced a bit lower than M.A.C and you receive quite a bit more eyeshadow in terms of volume.

Either way you cant go wrong.. M.A.C, Sugarpill, Sigma.. all great brands, and all will give you the desired results for a flawless look.

Since we are on the note of crazy fun makeup.. has anyone else seen Heidi Klums most recent makeup application?? This was AMAZING! She is well known for her insane Halloween costumes, and this time she was taking no prisoners. The makeup artist did an immaculate job with detail. Every vein, vessel, and tendon looks exquisite and realistic. The bald cap application also caught my attention... very precise, with no weird layovers or hair bumps. (anyone who has ever created their own latex baldcap knows what I'm talking about).

I want to see what you guys were for Halloween! Post some pics to my makeup page! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Makeup-by-Brittany/163993420306689

Ohhh October 22nd..

Okay, so this past Saturday was INSANE! Insane in a good way.. but insane nonetheless.

I had appointments all over town. First one was a wedding party that I got dolled up at Elite Styling Lounge, second was an engagement party makeover for Allyson Hill and her amazing sister Bethany. Then off to my studio to doll up Erin, a great client who lets me do all the fun stuff! We chatted fall looks and decided on a beautiful deep burgandy lip. The color is Diva from MAC, and trust me.. it'll bring it out in you... no matter who you are! ;)

This is one of my favorite looks so far this fall so I thought I'd share..

LOVE LOVE LOVE this lipstick color!! Everyone needs Diva in their makeup bag!
Allyson rocking the plum shadow! She looked gorgeous!
Dare you lipstick by MAC. Looovee this color. Threw on the old school Fafi gloss on top. Brule' and bamboo on the lid :)

Bonnie and Brians' enchanting day!

A couple of weeks back I did makeup for handsdown one of my new favorite people on the planet. Bonnie Farraiuolo (formerly Bamba) was one of the most gracious, generous, and relaxed brides I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She and her husband Brian are in for a long journey of happiness and I am thankful to have had  the opportunity to work with her :)

Here are a few pictures from their beautiful backyard wedding in Redding Ca. Enjoy!

Gorgeous Bride, inside and out..Tiffany Moen!
My assistants for the day, Jenna and Whitney helping bride Kara into her bridal gown..Jenna makes the jokes.. Whitney does everything else ;)
Bonnie was AMAZING to work with. Beauty and brains I tell ya! Cant wait to see some pictures of her ceremony! Ill be sure to share :)
Amy Mitchell Cheek on her big day! She looked amazing, and her dress... to die for!

Thought I'd start this post off  fun and light! So business has been crazier than I could have ever imagined... Life is crazy like that though.. Ive been doing photoshoots, weddings ( like.... a ton), lots of lessons, and my favorite.. Proms.

There is so much to be grateful for.. and I am.

Great friends who help me tremendously, (you know who you are), family, and most of all the community.

My medium of art is often hard to appreciate, especially in this fast past world of glitz and glam in abstract, graffiti, illustrative, etc. So I am thankful to those who take a moment, girls and boys alike and appreciate the medium of makeup art.

This is a short and sweet post, but it wraps up what I am feeling. :)

Cha Cha Cha Changes..

So, I have two words to sum up the past few months..

PURE INSANITY.

Between wrapping up my college studies, focusing wholeheartedly on the makeup business, planning my trip to Haiti, and helping Curt out with the shop.. well, Ive become a bit drained.

All of these new things, all of these new beginnings are such a great blessing.. but sometimes the fact that we are only human catches up with us eventually.

I know that EVERYTHING will pan out. Everything will be beautiful. Everything will have cause. Whether I become able to control each and every aspect of the journey is irrelevant really. Just the idea of becoming. Truly becoming who I am meant to become.

I know this because thats the way life flows.. within you and without you.

I have found myself becoming increasingly appreciative of the small things. The little delights that life has to offer. My newfound passion for painting. The look on Curts face when I dance around the living room. My Mothers phone calls and texts just to say I love you.

Slowly but surely, I am coming to realize that Redding life isn't so bad.

Of course I miss my family and friends, but I have gained SO much perspective on life.. on what drives me.. what makes me whole, and  happy.

So thanks Redding.

(I never thought I would say this)

I appreciate the trial and tribulations you have caused me.

They made me stronger than I was.

So I'm officially a blogger..

Let me preface with saying that I truly doubt many will read this.. which is alright with me because I will probably accidentally offend the masses with my not so quick witted arguments and redundant photos of my cats, boyfriend, business, etc.

For those of you willing to stick it out with me... Thanks! I mean, how else are we going to vent to nowadays?

Ok, so enough with the satire..

I'm so excited to begin this journey because it should provide some pretty awesome documentation on the growth of my art, my endeavours, and of me as a human.

I will try my hardest to update frequently.. meaning at least twice a month.. haha. I will also try my best to keep things entertaining and keep all my ranting to a minimum.. (dont get excited Curt.. Ill just vent my frustration to you instead)

Honestly, I am just stoked. This year is kind of like a catalyst for who or what I am soon to become. With college nearing its end, my small makeup studio making its debut, and my passport in hand.. I am pretty much ready to do anything and everything!

So stay tuned..because this will probably be a tumultuous, yet pleasantly addicting ride ;)
